The Cowley County Crime Stoppers is asking the public for any help or information possible concerning the disappearance of Richard D. May, white male 77. Mr. May has been reported by his family as a missing person. Mr. May is 77 years of age. Mr. May was last in contact with his family on November 30, 2009. Subsequent investigation has Mr. May’s last confirmed sighting on December 10, 2009 in Pawhuska Oklahoma.
Mr. May is described as being 5’09” and weighing 225 lbs. He has gray hair and is well known to local residents as “the harmonica man” due to the fact that he often played his harmonica around the Winfield area. Mr. May was last seen driving his van which is described as a 2002 Ford Windstar that is champagne in color and had gray spray paint on the front passenger side quarter panel.
The Winfield Police Department has received several tips from the public and are following up on all leads and tips received. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is also assisting in the investigation.
Investigators in this case are requesting help from the community in addition to calling in tips. Investigators are also asking anyone that owns rural property in or around the Cowley County area to check any places on their property where a vehicle or person could be hidden. This includes any outbuildings such as barns, sheds, garages, abandoned structures etc. Even if you do not believe there is anything on your property investigators are asking that you take the time to double check.
